Did you also forget about you?

Raise your hand if you’ve been so busy working on your business, coworking space, career and/or family that you’ve completely forgotten about your own personal brand.

Yea. Me too!

Your Personal Brand often refers to the clout and reputation attributed to your name, especially if your current professional position or business had to miraculously vanish into the abyss.

Under all the pressure to progress up the corporate ladder, raise capital, please customers or allocate enough time to walk and feed our puppies (or children); we seem to have all forgotten about our own personal brands.

I’ve used all the excuses in the book, “it’s not urgent“, “I’ll get to it after X“, “I’m way too busy right now“.

I’m sure you have used a few similar ones too.

I procrastinated, even though I’ve learned exactly how powerful a strong personal brand can be after witnessing two nationwide economic collapses.

I had seen how jobs and businesses that were ‘a sure thing’ on Thursday, closed or let all their staff go unexpectedly on Monday. Those who’d looked after their personal brand bounced right back, those who didn’t struggled to get back into the thick of things.

The excuses were all BS, and I know it. It is important enough, so I must make time for it.

Setting aside just 3 hours a month.

So in trying to right my own bad habits, I’m going to dedicate just 3 hours a month to looking after my own personal brand. And I’d like to invite you to join me.

Personally I’ll be using those 3 hours to write blog posts sharing my learnings as a value-driven entrepreneur in the coworking and technology sectors. I’ll make changes to my website and make sure it looks and feels great. I’ll even share tips and tricks that might help freelancers/founders and community leaders whilst also strengthen my ‘brand’ of being able to get creative at solving problems.

Freelancer? Corporate ladder-climber? Business leader? Or an amazing care-giver? Why not set aside some time each month to tell your story. If you don’t know even where to start, just ping me a comment below or say hi on Twitter or email

By starting today, you can slowly craft a personal brand that could illuminate new opportunities for you, even on the darkest of days.

Don’t be shy to share this post with anyone that you think has forgotten about their own personal brand of late.
